Wasing Park is set within the stunning Berkshire countryside and is a fantastic barn wedding venue. The estate features versatile grounds that are filled with historic gems like the Victorian Summerhouse and Castle Barn which make the perfect backdrops for wedding photography. Aimee and Matt are a lovely couple who got married in the garden room on New Year’s Eve last year and what a fantastic day it was! I started off capturing the girls getting ready in the Stables Lodge, a beautiful oak beamed room that is the honeymoon suite with the largest bed I have ever seen! The couple have a very young daughter who was very happy to just sit on Aimee’s lap among the hustle and bustle of the preparations. From here I headed down to the bar to meet the guys and capture some relaxed per-ceremony drinks before the vows were exchanged.
The grounds at Wasing Park have so many spots to shoot in and after the ceremony I took the newlywed around some of the areas for their couple shoot. They were very relaxed in front of the camera and this made for some beautiful shots before it was time for them to get back to their guests and carry on with the celebrations! Aimee’s Dad, Matt and his best men all delivered some blinding speeches and it was clear that everyone was having a great time as the night and new year drew closer. Once it was dark the guests gathered outside to light the sparklers for Aimee and Matt’s sparkler exit as an alternative to the traditional first dance that most couple choose.
Matt and Aimee were brilliant to work with and this made for an excellent end to 2016! Here’s some of my favourite moments from the day……..
