This modern barn wedding venue is made to a very high standard and is just a short drive from Horsham. It’s a family-run establishment catering to wedding couples seeking to celebrate their dream day in the beautiful Sussex countryside.
The barn features stunning oak frames with scenic views of the grounds outside. It’s possible to seat up to 138 guests during the ceremony and wedding breakfast or up to 200 during the evening’s entertainment. To the rear of Brookfield Barn is a sun-filled patio area overlooking the idyllic lake and fields beyond. There’s also the option to get married outside with the lake as your backdrop, which many couples choose to do when the weather is a little warmer.
Holly and Gary were recommended to me by their friends Kirstine and Richard, who got married at Northbrook Park three weeks earlier, so it was fantastic to see both couples again at Brookfield Barn.
The wedding day
The day began with the preparations and photographed Holly and her bridesmaids and bridesman being made up. I arrived at Brookfield Barn around thirty minutes before the ceremony to capture Gary with the guys and the guests arriving. It was a beautiful day with clear blue skies, and this made for the perfect weather for the outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour. Holly and Gary have lots of amazing friends who know how to enjoy themselves, and this made for some fantastic documentary images.
We ambled around the various scenic locations for some intimate time away from the crowd for their couple shoot. There were some amazing heartfelt speeches coupled with lots of laughs all around, and the atmosphere at Brookfield Barn was buzzing! There was just enough time afterwards to capture the last few minutes of the light before the twilight hour set in. I set up my flashes outside the barn to capture Gary and Holly under the beautiful pink sky with them brightly lit in the foreground.
The evening kicked off with a fabulous first dance routine before everyone jumped on the dance floor to celebrate a fantastic day. I loved Gary and Holly’s Sussex barn wedding and didn’t want to leave! Here are the best bits from their wedding day at Brookfield Barn…
