Buxted Park in east Sussex is a beautiful 18th century Palladian mansion and a fantastic choice for a wedding. It features stunning chandeliers, grand fireplaces and large sash windows. The building is set within 312 acres of magnificent countryside with rolling hills, pristine gardens and a decadant ponds. Buxted Park also boasts a relaxing terrace and a tranquil lake which are both fantastic locations for photos.
Charlotte and Martin are a really lovely couple who tied the knot here in the early Spring just as the daffodils had emerged. It was a mild day and the ceremony took place in the stunning Victorian Orangery with its amazing natural light that always works well for photography. Afterwards I took the couple on a tour around the grounds for some relaxed photos of just the two of them away from their guests. They were really relaxed in front of the camera and this helped to create some beautiful images before it was back to the reception for some mingling. The extensive Ballroom was the perfect setting for the wedding breakfast and after some great speeches it was time for the party to start. Once I’d captured plenty of dancing I finished the day with a few atmospheric indoor shots of the couple making good use of the hallway towards the orangery and the areas on the first floor.
I’m really grateful to Charlotte and Martin for asking Alicia and I to be their wedding photographers at Buxted Park and I was very pleased with their reaction to the photos…..
“Thanks for all the photos – they are fantastic! We are starting to go through them all and pick out our favourites for the album! Thanks again to you and Alicia for all your hard work on the day and for running around catching all the moments we might otherwise have missed!” – Charlotte & Martin
