The stunning RHS Garden in Wisley is an incredibly magical venue for weddings and completely different from any other venue I’ve enjoyed working at. Set in the Surrey hills’ heart, this unrivalled venue offers a charming and unique setting. Within the RHS garden’s extensive grounds, there’s a variety of different venues to choose from the iconic Glasshouse overlooking the stunning lakes to the Waterlily Pavilion that looks out on to the canal.

The church ceremony in Horsley

As the recommended photographer for the RHS Garden, Wisley, it’s always an immense pleasure to work there. I was really excited when Eva and George asked me to capture their Summer wedding in June. It was the hottest day of the year with the temperatures soaring under deep blue skies, and I knew it would be a fantastic day. I joined Eva and her entourage of bridesmaids at her mother’s house in East Horsley for the preparations.

There was instantly a fantastic vibe floating around as I successfully managed to recite all of the nine bridesmaids’ names back to them, which was met with a big cheer! 😉 It was a lot of fun capturing the preparations, but it was soon time to head on to the church to meet George and the guys.

Eva looked stunning as she arrived with her father in the car, and the ceremony was full of laughs and beautiful moments. As the newlyweds emerged from the church, a shower of confetti met them, and I’m still chuckling as I recall one handful making a direct hit into George’s mouth!!

The beautiful garden at RHS Wisley

As we arrived at Wisley, the gardens looked stunning in the sunshine, and after greeting the bride and groom, everyone tucked into afternoon tea and Pimms! With an acoustic guitarist providing some beautiful music in the background, this made for a lovely atmosphere and a relaxed, Summery vibe.

The RHS gardens are packed with endless opportunities for photos, and I took Eva and George on a brief tour to see the sites. I wanted to capture some romantic moments of them away from the crowd in the sunshine. Although it was the first time either had had a professional couple shoot, they were both really natural in front of the camera.

Upon entering the Glasshouse for the wedding breakfast, it was breathtakingly beautiful! With the trickling waterfall and the tables set up among the wilderness, it felt like we were outside in the thick of nature. After some moving speeches and more laughs, there was just enough time to squeeze in a sunset shoot before the party! Everyone at the wedding could feel the excitement and threw themselves into the party, creating a wonderful atmosphere.

Eva and George’s wedding was outstanding, and I’m very grateful to them for inviting me to capture their very unique and memorable day. I was delighted with their review that they left on my Google page.

“My husband & I are absolutely thrilled with Murray’s pictures of our wedding day and how he went above and beyond all of our hopes for a photographer. He was incredibly professional and fitted in so well with the wedding guests due to his kind nature. We were thrilled to have him with us on the day and so grateful for the amazing pictures we have received. Highly recommended.” – Eva & George
