Great Fosters Wedding Venue in Surrey

Great Fosters Wedding Venue in Egham on a sunny day.

Information about the venue

Great Fosters wedding venue near Egham in Surrey, is steeped in history and was built as a royal hunting lodge in the mid-1550s. What better place to hold your unique wedding ceremony and reception – sharing your Special Day with family and friends. The impressive Grade I listed country house is set amongst 50 acres of stunning formal gardens and parkland, and includes: well-stocked flower beds bordered by manicured hedges and topiary, a sunken rose garden with arches and pergolas around a lily pond, a Japanese wisteria clad bridge, a lake, a fountain; and is framed on three sides by a Saxon moat – all providing an idyllic backdrop for your beautiful wedding photographs.

After tasteful and sympathetic renovation, Great Fosters was opened as a hotel in the 1930s and now provides the perfect wedding venue. This venue is equally suitable for intimate celebrations of 30 guests or less, or grand weddings of over 200 people because of the vast spaces available.

The elegant Orangery has tall arched 18th-century-style windows, and enjoys magnificent views over the magnolia lawn and gardens. “Murray Clarke was exceptional from start to finish, one person’s mission to capture our day in the best possible way while listening to our wants and needs and delivering in the final product. Both my wife and I recommend Murray to everyone we know who is getting married, having children or having an event that requires photography, for several reasons.

Murray is reliable, understanding, patient, respectable, professional and a genuinely lovely guy. Our pictures are pricelessly perfect!” – Edd and Justine

Chrissie & Joe

“Murray was great throughout the whole process of planning the wedding, the day itself and after the wedding. He kept in close contact and was always reassuring and giving advice where needed. On the wedding day itself, we hardly even noticed he was there!

He was unobtrusive but at the same time guided us whenever it was needed. I really would recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer for their wedding (and already have!).” – Chrissie & Joe

Jen & Jamie

“Murray is so natural in his ability, he gives you utter confidence. Where Murray really shines is in his ability to capture wonderful moments, ‘looks of love’ between couples and laughter between friends. Each photo captures the unique character of the individual. My husband and I are a naturally shy couple but Murray managed to capture some beautiful tender moments between us that we will cherish forever.

Choosing Murray was our best decision in the wedding planning process.” – Jen & Jamie
