Great Fosters Winter wedding with Amanda and Russ, a magical day and a real pleasure to capture.
Having photographed so many big and small weddings at Great Fosters, I’ve explored the different areas that make up the magnificent grounds. There’s always endless opportunities for great backdrops with many nooks and crannies to explore. This Grade l listed 16th Century Hotel is set within 50 acres of gardens and is a firm favourite amongst couples seeking something that little bit special for their wedding day. With so many historical aspects, including strong links to the monarchy, it’s a very grand wedding venue that oozes charm.
Great Fosters Winter wedding day
Amanda and Russ are a lovely couple who asked me to be their photographer for their Winter wedding here in January. The day began with Amanda being made up in the wonderful Tapestry Room with it’s amazing dramatic light that I always to work with during the preparations.
I met Russ and the boys as they were getting ready before heading down to the Orangery for the ceremony. After the vows were exchanged, the guests mingled in the bar to congratulate the newly happy couple. I love Winter weddings at Great Fosters as the nights draw in much earlier, making for wonderful golden light just after the ceremony. I took Amanda and Russ for their couple shoot around the gardens to have some time away from their guests and create some wonderful images of the two of them.
The elegant tithe barn was the perfect setting for the meal and speeches before the room was turned around for the evening party. I finished my coverage with some atmospheric evening shots outside as Amanda and Russ cuddled under the stars.
