Nicholas and Elizabeth’s Gildings Barn Wedding in Surrey

Nicholas and Elizabeth's Wedding at Gildings Barn in Surrey

Set in the heart of the small idyllic village of Newdigate you’ll find the beautiful Gildings Barn. Surrounded by luscious countryside this tranquil setting is a great choice for couples who want a rustic barn with lots of character. In these grounds you won’t see venue branding on every wall or snazzy logos. This authentic slice of history is indeed the real deal and only available to a limited number of lovely clients each year.

The grounds feature many original agricultural tools and artifacts that decorate the walls as well as a horse drawn cart, a small Granary and an extensive farmland that offers a picturesque backdrop for dream wedding photographs. The oak beamed barn can accommodate up to 130 guests for your special day and the experienced, friendly staff ensure that weddings here run very smoothly.

I had the pleasure of working with the lovely Nicholas and Elizabeth for their romantic wedding in July. The bride’s family home was the perfect choice for an intimate setting for the preparations and all the ladies were in awe as Elizabeth slipped on her wedding gown.

Excitement filled the church as she was proudly escorted down the aisle with her loving father at her side. After a moving exchange of vows the happy newlyweds proceeded back down the aisle greeted with a shower of petals as they entered the courtyard.

As they pulled away in their vintage Jaguar the guests whooped and cheered with celebratory enthusiasm before following the couple to the reception.

Gildings Barn looked beautiful as everyone arrived to mingle in the peaceful grounds with a flute of fizz. As a recommended photographer for the venue, I lead the excited couple around my favourite spots, resulting in some very romantic images. The barn looked incredible as the setting for their wedding breakfast as Nick and the speakers delivered some heartfelt speeches with some comical twists!

With the warm sun beginning to set we made the most of the light with some intimate golden hour photos before the bride and groom took to the dance floor. I rounded their coverage off with some enchanting evening images as Elizabeth and Nicholas embraced under the moonlit sky.

It was a huge honour to work with such an amazing couple and I’m very grateful to them for in turn recommended me to all of their friends. I look forward to meeting them again at their friends’ weddings in the near future.

Here are a few snippets from the day…….

“Murray Clarke is such an amazing photographer. He photographed our wedding in July 2019. Every single photo makes us smile from the inside out! He was so friendly and really made us feel relaxed. We would highly recommend him.” – Nicholas & Elizabeth
