Wedding venue in the countryside
Set in the quaint small village of Newdigate in Surrey lies Old Greens Barn, a beautiful, rustic venue that’s become increasingly popular for weddings in recent years. This idyllic countryside setting offers a picturesque fishing lake within the grounds and acres and acres of rolling hills and woodland as far as the eye can see. The barn itself dates back over 700 years and is believed to be one of Surrey’s oldest. Old Greens Barn has been tastefully restored to retain its original appeal, making this wedding venue perfect for those seeking an authentic barn experience.
Nick and Lizzy were recommended to me by their good friends Nicholas and Elizabeth, whose wedding I had captured just weeks before at Gildings Barn.
The day began at Lizzy’s parents’ house, where she was being made up with her bridal party. The ceremony was held at a beautiful church before heading to Old Greens Barn for the afternoon’s reception. The guests gathered around the newlyweds on the grounds to congratulate them as they sipped champagne and mingled.

The oak-framed barn was decorated beautifully, and this was the rustic setting for the meal and speeches. As the sun went down, we headed outside to capture the last of the light and some magical evening shots. I made full use of the hundreds of fairy lights within the grounds to frame the couple. It was soon time for the party as Nick and Lizzy took to the barn’s dance floor for their first dance to kick off the evening entertainment.
I had a fantastic day working with this amazing couple at Old Greens Barn and was really pleased that they loved the photos. They even sent me a bottle of wine each and a box of chocolates to show their appreciation for me as their wedding photographer! 🙂
