As you enter Rivervale Barn, a world of opportunities comes into focus. Exchange your vows as you unite in the enchanting Ceremony Barn, with soft natural light pouring in through large windows. The abundance of sunshine exposes the authentic wooden beams to create a unique and magical setting. In contrast, you can also opt for an outdoor ceremony where The Spinney offers an idyllic space to be wedded in the gardens.

Champagne reception in the courtyard

Following the ceremony, you’ll want plenty of time to celebrate! Your friends and family are treated to a champagne reception in the Courtyard, with delicious canapés being served as they soak up the picture-perfect surroundings. The wedding breakfast in the Dining Barn will undoubtedly delight the tastebuds of all your guests as they relax and unwind.

But before the wedding ceremony begins, the luxurious Pamper Room is the ideal area for bridal preparations, with plenty of natural light and mirrors, which are perfect for creative photography. Working with the bride and her bridesmaids during this part of the day is an opportunity for me to put them at ease in front of the camera, allowing me to frame the anticipation and build up to the ceremony in the barn. I’ll start by taking pictures of the beautiful dress, bouquet and shoes before documenting the spontaneous moments as they unfold naturally. I can then zoom across to the barn to meet the groomsmen and the rest of the family before the bride walks down the aisle.

I love to take the bride and groom on a tour of the gardens and courtyard for their couple portraits in stunning soft light. Using a variety of lenses and focal lengths allows me to capture all the action. From wider scene-setting shots to intimate close-ups to document their love story. Blending into the day is what I do well, and this allows me to observe and frame the day through my viewfinder without being intrusive.

My focus and photography approach

My photography plan at Rivervale Barn is to put my subjects at ease as I document the action. I want the bride and groom and all of their guests to feel relaxed in my presence and not feel inhibited by my cameras. I’ll be focussing on the special moments as the action unfolds to create a magical record that tells your love story in the most artistic way possible. You can unwind and enjoy the day, safe in the knowledge that I’m capturing the joyful celebration unobtrusively. This translates to a beautiful set of memories for you to enjoy forever.

A fluid wedding experience for the bride and groom

Once the speeches are underway, I’ll be there to photograph the iconic moments from all angles, moving around fluidly as I take pictures. In my work, I strive to bridge the gap between reportage photography and beautiful portraiture to deliver a gallery of meaningful images that portray your celebration in the best light. Throughout the day, I’ll be focussing my cameras on all of the guests so that you can remember everyone who attended, not just the bridal party.

After the sun begins to set and the evening reception starts to flow, it’s time to party the night away! Whether you hire a live band or a DJ, Rivervale Barn offers lots of opportunities to create a memorable celebration. I love to get on the dancefloor with my cameras and capture the action as the guests let their hair down. Sometimes, I like to drag the shutter if it’s really dark to create light streaks in my compositions. Other times, I’ll expose the available light to create a series of snapshots to tell the story as you boogie.
