Set in the heart of over 50 acres of the South Downs National Park in West Sussex, Selden Barns is a fantastic wedding venue.
A family-run business made of two characterful barns and the Old Selden Farmhouse. It’s surrounded by beautifully maintained lawns and a small terrace overlooking farmland and nearby forests.
The venue is just ten minutes down the road from where I live, so very local. I was thrilled when Lorraine and Russ asked me to be their wedding photographer for their dream Summer wedding at Selden Barns. The day began at the couple’s home, with Lorraine completing the finishing touches in the Gatehouse Newlywed Suite. Time was flying, and before we knew it, Lorraine and Russ were exchanging their vows in the atmospheric Ceremony Barn. The barn is absolutely stunning with its authentic oak beams, original fireplace and exposed brickwork. This really provides a warm and rustic ambience, and Selden Barns is a truly magical venue.

Once married, the excited newlyweds headed out of the barn to a shower of confetti! It was then time to enjoy reception drinks on the lawns within the walled gardens. I took the lovely couple for their romantic couple photos around the attractive gardens. All the way, I was making the most of the pretty flowers and picturesque surroundings at Selden Barns.
The evening wedding reception and party were soon underway as Lorraine and Russ took to the chequered dance floor as the excited guests gathered around the perimeter. Just as the twilight sky emerged, it was my opportunity to get really creative with some flash lit evening couple portraits against the Selden Barns. The newlyweds booked amazing under the night sky, lit in the foreground. I absolutely loved working with Lorraine and Russ at Selden Barns, and after the venue team saw the images, they immediately asked me to join their list of recommended suppliers!
