Very few wedding venues match the allure and sophistication of Salomons Estate in Tunbridge Wells! Located just a few miles from Royal Tunbridge Wells’s spa town, this beautiful Victorian building oozes elegance and architectural brilliance. I love to photograph not just the wide shots that expose the grandeur of the estate but also the detailed close-ups that focus on the intricate details. Each element of the estate is meticulously crafted by Decimus Burton, a well-known architect of his time. Set within 36 acres of rolling parkland, this esteemed venue allows for a wealth of unique pictures on the wedding day, offering couples a magical setting in which to exchange their vows.
Grand Victorian wedding venue in the countryside
One of my favourite features of Salomons Estate is its grand spaces. Each area is designed to cater to the most discerning couples and their wedding guests. The magnificent Victorian theatre has a capacity of up to 230 guests, so it’s ideally suited to larger weddings. This picturesque space serves as the perfect location for ceremonies and receptions alike, exuding grandeur and sophistication. The intricately detailed Gold Room is an excellent option for couples seeking a more intimate and private setting. It features direct access to the extensive gardens and surrounding woodlands, providing me, as the wedding photographer, with endless opportunities for epic compositions! Finally, there’s the Conservatory, which is best suited to intimate weddings. This airy space has floor-to-ceiling windows and is perfect for the wedding, breakfast, and evening celebrations. It has a total capacity of up to 36 seated guests.
My focus and approach at Salomons
On the day, I adopt a friendly approach to develop a great rapport with the bride and groom and their wedding guests. By working unobtrusively, I let the candid moments unfold naturally to create a cinematic record of the events in-camera.
Illustrating the love and joy at this manor house is what I strive to achieve, observing the action through my viewfinder to tell a heartfelt story. The result is a beautiful collection of images that depict the emotions and excitement of your most special day. I want to be accepted and gain my subjects’ trust so you can focus on enjoying the celebrations, knowing that I’m creating lasting memories with my camera that you can cherish forever.
Jacqueline and Alfie’s wedding day at Salomons Estate
Jacqueline and Patrick’s wedding at Salomons Estate was a wonderful, joyous celebration. This lovely couple radiated happiness throughout the day with the stunning Victorian mansion as the backdrop. As their photographer, documenting the spontaneous moments was a great pleasure.
I really enjoyed taking the newlyweds around the idyllic grounds for some artistic portraits with the lake in the frame. The south-facing terrace and woodlands are both wonderful areas for pictures of the bride and groom overlooking the gardens. This made for some relaxed pictures as the couple shared some intimate moments together away from the crowd. The wedding breakfast and evening celebrations were held in the Theatre Room, making for an epic backdrop to their first dance as husband and wife.
I was thrilled to hear how pleased Jacqueline and Alfie were with their wedding gallery, and here are a few of my favourite images from their perfect day in this country house.
Testimonial from the bride and groom
“Thank you so much Murray for everything and for running around after us all at our wedding, we had such a wonderful day! We have just had a first look through our photos, and we love them!” – Jacqueline & Alfie
