Walthamstow Wetlands Centre is part of the London Wildlife Trust and offers a unique and tranquil wedding setting in the vibrant city of London. With the picturesque backdrop of lakes, pristine greenery, and historic architecture, the Engine Room is a beautiful venue in the city’s heart. This beautifully restored Victorian building combines industrial chic and rustic charm. This unique provides the perfect backdrop for wedding ceremonies and receptions, featuring exposed brickwork, towering ceilings, and authentic machinery. From exchanging your vows to dancing the night away with your guests, the Engine Room sets the stage for an elegant and memorable wedding.

The Walthamstow Wetlands Centre offers many outdoor locations for great pictures, including pathways, gardens and waterfront vistas. The venue caters for gatherings of all sizes, from the intimate to the grand; there’s something to suit everyone.

Katy and Will’s wedding at Walthamstow Wetlands in London was an unforgettable celebration filled with challenges and triumphs. Despite the heavy rain for most of the day, I took the opportunity to document the newlyweds against the stunning wetlands and various backdrops outside. The calm waters made for iconic images of the couple as I snapped away with my cameras. I also utilised the more industrial interior spaces of the Engine Room, resulting in some marvellous images of their big special day.

Memorable pictures amongst the downpour

With the bride and groom’s unwavering enthusiasm, we weren’t about to let a spot of rain dampen our spirits, and this highlights the resilience and joy that love often brings! Their story shone through the clouds as I strove to record all the intimate moments amidst the raindrops.

Working as their photographer at Walthamstow Wetlands was a wonderful experience, and I’m so pleased they chose me to take pictures of their wedding.
