The Anchor Hotel in Shepperton is a wedding venue full of character and steeped in history, parts of which date back 400 years. The hotel was once witness to one of the most famous love stories of the twentieth Century when romance blossomed between Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor during the filming of ‘Cleopatra’ in the 1960s. Samantha and Carl got married in the atmospheric Disraeli room before heading across to the Warren Lodge for a riverside couple shoot overlooking the Thames. The wedding breakfast and speeches were held in the wood panelled Oliver room where Carl was treated to the usual ridiculing from his best man and I don’t think I’ll ever find out what the “infamous” paper clamp was used for, probably just as well!! A great wedding and I really enjoyed working with Samantha and Carl – here’s some of my favourites from the day………..
