As a wedding photographer Wotton House is an incredible venue to photograph. At the end of the mile long scenic driveway, deep in the heart of the beautiful Surrey countryside lies the magnificent building. With its stunning 17th century architecture, the hotel features Roman-style temples, bridges, grottos, ponds and even a stream all set within 13 acres of beautifully manicured gardens. It’s an impressive Grade II listed house and as now part of De Vere Hotels, it’s highly regarded as one of the most spectacular wedding venues in Surrey.
There’s a whole host of different options to choose from when getting married here that cater for your every need. From smaller intimate affairs to lavish weddings on a larger scale, the sky is the limit with this fantastic venue.
The day as a Wedding Photographer Wotton House
When Tammy and Josh asked me to capture their big day here I was very excited to return. The lovely couple tied the knot in at a nearby church before heading to Wotton House for their reception. When we arrived I allowed them plenty of time to mingle and kick back before I lead them on a romantic stroll around the gardens to take in the scenic views. They were very natural in front of the camera and with the sun shining all day long this made for some beautiful images.
What I love about at Wotton House is the variety of different locations available for wedding photos. The temples, the neat topiary gardens, the caves and the magnificent Old Library are just some of the areas that make for fantastic compositions.
The Evelyn Suite with its pretty drapes and elegant interior made the perfect setting for their wedding breakfast in the afternoon and evening. There were some moving moments during the speeches and lots of laughs too as all the guests raised a glass to the happy couple! Afterwards there was just enough time to squeeze in a golden hour sunset shoot before the party began indoors. The dance floor was buzzing and later, as the twilight hour emerged, I lead Tammy and Josh outside to capture some epic images of them under the deep blue night sky.
I really enjoyed working with such a fun and relaxed couple and here’s my favourite photos from a wonderful day. Tammy and Josh loved their images and gave me some very kind feedback…..
“Thank you so much Murray – we absolutely love the photos and can’t stop looking at them over and over!” – Tammy & Josh
