Set in 11 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds with views across the Thames Valley to Windsor and Surrey, this Grade II listed Georgian property elegantly conveys the style and architecture of its era whilst providing all you could ask for in terms of convenience, style and facilities. As part of the Crown Estate, Pembroke Lodge has a rich heritage of royal, military and political connections and has carved out a historical niche as the residence of Prime Minister, Lord John Russell who was granted occupancy by Queen Victoria in 1847. His grandson, philosopher Bertrand Russell spent his childhood days at the Lodge and family memorials can still be seen in the rose gardens within the grounds.
Having been restored to its full splendour by the Hearsay Family Limited, the mansion has hosted weddings for over 50 years and currently offers two suites – the Russell Suite and the Belvedere – from which to host tailor made celebrations.
Beautiful Architectural features
With its elegant high ceilings dressed according to the era and a classic ‘afternoon tea’ atmosphere, the Russell Suite is an example of original Georgian architecture, a step back in time to the opulence of a traditional Georgian parlour but with an intimate romantic feel. The smaller of the two wedding suites, ceremonies, receptions and evening entertainment can easily be hosted and with seating for up to 70 guests, top quality banqueting fare provided by the specialist onsite catering team, a beautifully cultivated exterior lawn for outdoor refreshments, a summer wedding at the Russell Suite of the Lodge is a very popular choice.
Fantastic Wedding Photo Opportunities
For those who need to accommodate larger numbers and would prefer a more modern, purpose built setting, the Belvedere with its outside terrace provides seating for 140. Modern lighting and sound systems for evening celebrations are included in hire package prices and as with the Russell Suite, the Belvedere hosts ceremonies, receptions and evening events with its dedicated catering team providing a wide ranging seasonal menu including buffets and desserts.
Both the Russell Suite and the Belvedere enjoy magnificent views over Richmond Park. An area of outstanding natural beauty with its many ponds, streams, exotic shrubs, trees and wildlife, a wedding ceremony staged within this Royal Park allows opportunity for stunning photographic shots to capture your special day.
