Dorney Court Wedding Venue in Buckinghamshire

Dorney Court Wedding Venue in Buckinghamshire

Information about the venue

If this picture of Dorney Court in Buckinghamshire looks familiar, maybe it is because the stately home has featured as a location in numerous films and television programmes such as Pride and Prejudice, Midsomer Murders and Agatha Christie’s Poirot. Nestled amidst acres of mature beautiful parkland and surrounded by neatly trimmed yew hedges, Dorney Court in Buckinghamshire is situated midway between Maidenhead and Slough, west of London. The impressive Grade I listed building has been carefully restored and is one of England’s most enchanting early Tudor Manor Houses – an ideal wedding venue for your dream day. With delightful landscaped gardens boasting lush green lawns and colourful flower borders, a picturesque courtyard, woodland and lakes, ancient parkland and 1000 acres of farmland, there is certainly no shortage of stunning backgrounds for your memorable photographs. Dorney Court is justifiably proud of its selection of homegrown fruit and is believed to have produced the first pineapple in Britain, famously presented to King Charles II.

Fantastic Wedding Photo Opportunities

A popular wedding venue since 2014, the stately mansion has a choice of several exclusive spaces for your ceremony and reception, including The recently renovated Coach House Barn with its exposed oak beams; the spectacular Tudor Great Hall boasting a magnificent stone fireplace, ancient portraits adorning the walls, and a high vaulted ceiling; the historic panelled Parlour (the oldest room in the house); and the gorgeous grounds and parkland.

Historic Wedding Venue in Buckinghamshire

There is also the 13th-century stained glass windowed church of St James the Less (organised independently from Dorney Court), enabling the whole wedding day to take place on-site. In the heart of the estate, you’ll find Gale Cottage (formerly the stables) – a recently renovated two double-bedroom self-catering cottage providing convenient accommodation for the bride, groom or guests, if required. The gabled cottage has its own private courtyard and a small garden.

Moving on to a number of guests that can be accommodated at Dorney Court: the Coach House Barn -120 guests; the Great Hall – 60 guests; the Parlour -15 guests. For larger weddings, a marquee erected in a classical setting on the lawns is the perfect solution and can accommodate over 200 guests, depending on your requirements. And then, of course, there is the church, located next to the house and the Church House Barn, and accommodating up to 100 guests.

Could there possibly be a more perfect setting to exchange vows with your loved one? Your specially created wedding at Dorney Court is one that you and your partner, friends and guests will remember for many years to come. Together with a set of my stunning photographs, the romantic memories will never fade.
