Want to be in the movies? If you’re looking for somewhere exclusive and a little different for your wedding venue, maybe the next best thing is for you and your loved one to be married at Heatherden Hall, situated within Pinewood Studios in Iver, Buckinghamshire. This magnificent Grade II listed Victorian mansion was built in a Georgian style in the early part of the nineteenth century and boasts delightful formal gardens, an oak-panelled ballroom with an original sprung floor, an impressive raised stage area, sparkling crystal chandeliers, an open fireplace and French windows leading out onto the terrace and gardens. There is certainly no shortage of wonderful backdrops here for your romantic wedding photographs.
Home to the James Bond films and about six hundred other prestigious productions, Pinewood Studios was built around Heatherden Hall in the mid-1930s. Movies made here also include: ‘Oliver Twist’, ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, ‘The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie’, The Great Gatsby and some of the ‘Carry-On’ franchise.
The world-famous director Alfred Hitchcock shot his films ‘Young and Innocent’ and ‘Frenzy’ here and was one of many producers making use of the interiors and exteriors of the Hall. Marvel at the Hitchcock Suite, which has a seated space for 120 guests and a feature fireplace and French windows that open out into the beautiful lawned gardens. The gardens were recently used as the backdrop for the film ‘Gulliver’s Travels’. The ornamental bridge is another superb backdrop for your romantic wedding photographs.
Architecture
Three arched doors open onto the adjoining Pools Theatre, originally an art deco swimming pool and Turkish bath. This split-level banqueting suite connects through to the Ballroom and is an ideal venue for your special day. The Ballroom has a capacity of 200 guests for the ceremony, 120 guests with the dance floor, and 180 guests without the dance floor. Alternatively, for larger weddings, the Ballroom and Pools Theatre together offer space for 280 to 300 guests.
