Nestled in 500 acres of idyllic countryside in the beautiful Chiltern Hills, East of Oxford and South West of Aylesbury, you’ll find Notley Tythe Barn — a unique wedding venue with a relaxed atmosphere, providing a romantic and magical experience that you, your loved one and guests will never forget. The Reynolds family have been farmers here for over 350 years, and it was back in 1991 that the present owners, Nick and Denise, set about tastefully transforming and upgrading their historical 12th-century barn into the wonderful wedding venue that you see today.
It was Nick and Denise’s ambition that the venue maintains a family feel, and using their wealth of knowledge and experience, they have certainly succeeded. All guests have exclusive use of the barn and picturesque grounds, ensuring a high degree of privacy. The barn itself has ample room to seat 140 guests, or around 200 for the evening reception — with the permanent interconnecting marquee adding additional capacity if required. The magnificent interior boasts a beam rafted roof, a whitewashed hall, a superb fireplace and a fully licensed bar.
Fantastic Wedding Photo Opportunities
Open the barn’s doors and marvel at the far-reaching countryside views and the lawn—an ideal place to mingle with your guests and sample the canapés while sipping a glass of chilled champagne. Landscape architect Steven Hendy, a Chelsea Gold Medal winner, has redesigned the lovely garden. There are lots of delightful backdrops here for your stunning wedding photographs.
Ceremonies and receptions can be arranged at any time from 2pm onwards. The in-house catering is of the highest standard, with the Chef and banquet kitchens providing a wide choice of mouth-watering food, specifically tailored to your individual requirements.
