Information about the venue
Set in 66 acres of glorious parkland and gardens, Tylney Hall near Basingstoke, Hampshire, is the perfect wedding venue for you and your loved one to exchange vows and say “I do”. Located southwest of London, the imposing Grade II listed Victorian mansion dates back to the 1870s and is easily accessible from the M3 and M4 motorways. After extensive refurbishment, the hall was reopened as a magnificent hotel and restaurant in 1985, and work began on restoring the spacious gardens to their former glory.
There is certainly no shortage of stunning backdrops for your memorable photographs. You and your guests can wander through the spectacular gardens and marvel at the extensive woodlands and far-reaching views over the Hampshire countryside. In the early 1900s, renowned gardener and planter Gertrude Jekyll was credited with designing the individual historic gardens that we still see today. Admire the delightful Italian and Dutch gardens, now lovingly restored. There’s a tranquil lake with a picturesque boathouse bridge, a water garden stocked with fish, over 250,000 shrubs and trees, including giant redwoods, a circular rose garden, azalea gardens, and a kitchen garden supplying produce to the hotel.

At Tylney Hall you’ll find four venues licensed for civil ceremonies which cater from 20 to 120 guests: the impressive and popular baronial Tylney Suite with its high vaulted ceiling and minstrel’s gallery; the Hampshire Suite has its own reception area, bar and walled garden; and the stunning stone gazebos in the Italian Gardens. The Great Hall is partially panelled in Italian walnut and has a fine fireplace built from stone brought over from Venice. The tastefully restored Italian Lounge is elegant and stylish; the light and airy Grey Lounge enjoys lovely views over the gardens and grounds; and finally, the Old Library is an ideal place to relax in front of the marble fireplace with a pre-and-after-dinner drink.
In addition, the hotel has luxury overnight accommodation for your guests (some rooms with four-poster beds), an oak-panelled suite for the bride and groom, a swimming pool, a range of leisure facilities, a changing room for guests, ample car parking, an adjacent 18-hole golf course – even a helipad!
