Dulwich College Wedding Venue in London

Dulwich College Wedding Venue in LondonInformation about the venue

The historic 400 year old buildings of the Dulwich College Wedding Venue in London, will provide you with a romantic backdrop for your very Special Day. Founded in 1619 and nestled in 70 acres of leafy grounds, the renowned college now caters for civil ceremonies and receptions of all types, offering a number of versatile spaces to celebrate with friends and family, and countless possibilities for your stunning photographs.

Previous scholars who have benefited from an education at Dulwich College include Sir Ernest Shackleton (Antarctic explorer), P.G. Wodehouse (writer of the Jeeves books), Lord George of St Tudy (former Governor of the Bank of England), Trevor Bailey (all-round cricketer of the 1950s), and more recently, Nigel Farage (who needs no introduction!)

Stunning period features

The spectacular wrought-iron gates and front lawns of the Barry Buildings provide a stunning background for your drinks reception, mingling with your guests, sipping chilled Champagne and nibbling canapés. You may even consider the erection of a large marquee here. Where better to have your wedding breakfast than in the impressive Grand Hall with its spectacular ceiling, ornate stained-glass windows and sparkling chandeliers? Space here for between 80 and 480 guests, depending on your layout requirements. The grand staircase leads to the Lower Hall (capacity between 28 and 150 guests) and the light and airy Cloisters on the ground floor. These are marvellous places for an evening party or simply a secluded spot for your guests to chat over a cup of coffee. The Old Library, with its wood panelling, high-level arched windows and vaulted ceiling, is a quiet and tranquil room and another superb place to consider for your celebrations.

Dulwich College Weddings

For an intimate reception, choose the Pavilion Suite and enjoy the wonderful views overlooking the manicured grounds of the college. The Christison Hall and Trevor Bailey are also available to hire for wedding receptions whatever the size. For a more informal wedding, barbeques and hog roasts are ever popular in the spacious outdoor spaces.

With a great choice of different venues, there’s something for everyone at Dulwich College. The college feels part of the countryside, yet remains conveniently located for easy access to central London and towns nearby. A set of my stunning wedding photographs will bring back happy memories for many years to come.
