Information about the venue
You don’t need to be a member of the exclusive and luxurious Lansdowne Club to exchange your vows at this prestigious and distinctive Grade II listed venue — located just off Berkeley Square, Mayfair, in the heart of London. The club was founded in the mid-1930s as “a social, residential and athletic club for members of social standing”. The impressive 18th. century building dates back to 1763 and was sympathetically and tastefully modernised in 2000. The elegant Art Deco style and splendid Adam interiors – all of which are immaculately decorated and well preserved.
There is certainly no shortage of wonderful backdrops and spaces in this glamorous private club for your romantic wedding photographs. The outdoor landscaped Courtyard and Winter Garden, on the corner of Berkeley Square, is a picturesque and beautiful location, and although I can’t promise you’ll hear a nightingale sing, I can assure you of a stunning set of photographs to remember your special day.
A historic venue in a modern era
The Adam Room and The Ballroom are both perfect for a civil ceremony. For an intimate exchange of vows, choose the Adam Room with its 24-carat gold leaf vaulted ceilings, minstrel galleries, natural lighting, working fireplace and magnificent period plasterwork. Space here for 80 guests. The spacious Ballroom can accommodate 150 guests for your ceremony and afterwards, whilst you mingle with your guests in The Courtyard, sipping chilled Champagne and nibbling canapés. The room can be reset for the wedding breakfast and evening entertainment.
The Long Gallery boasts oak panelling and a classic barrelled ceiling and is ideal for your after-dinner bar. The light and airy Crush Hall, with its retractable roof, is also available to enjoy your drinks reception or the cutting of the cake and offers a further fine backdrop for your all-important photographs.
You and your guests need look no further than The Lansdowne Club for your accommodation. There’s a complimentary Bridal Suite, and the use of up to twenty luxury bedrooms and suites, subject to availability. A private function room is freely available for breakfast if more than ten guest rooms are reserved.
