Surrounded by nine acres of beautiful Surrey parkland and with its own landscaped sunken garden complete with palm trees and a heart shaped lake with swans, Hampton Court House is a romantic environment to host civil ceremonies, partnerships and wedding celebrations. Add in the fact that it’s also an exquisite Georgian mansion located opposite the famous Hampton Court Palace, and its distinctive character and charm immediately becomes apparent.

Hampton Court House is simply stunning, an elegant mansion featuring traditional architecture and décor, once described as ‘suitable for a wealthy merchant Prince.’ Built in 1727 for the 2nd Earl of Halifax as a love token for his mistress, romantic touches, such as the heart shaped lake and shell clad grotto, transform it into a truly magical location. Hampton Court House is unique – a fairy tale venue where the dreams of any wedding couple automatically become reality, and one with countless opportunities to capture spectacular wedding photography.

The main house of this magnificent 18th Century mansion features a wonderful array of majestic spaces to host either civil ceremonies, partnerships or receptions. The grand dining hall and adjoining conservatory can accommodate up to 150 seated guests. Its traditional black and white chequer board floor, high ceilings and gilt décor portray elegance while brightly painted walls give it a more modern appearance.

In contrast, the main hall with its marble pillars, balconied gallery, focal point feature fireplace, floor to ceiling drapes and ornate chandeliers has a more opulent feel. It has a light and airy atmosphere as the hall is illuminated by natural light through a wonderful glass skylight ceiling. Again, with the ability to accommodate up to 150 guests, a dance floor transforms this space into a perfect setting for both ceremonies, receptions and evening entertainment. Elegant marquees are also available for the external grounds, accommodating up to 400 guests.

As would be expected, dining within Hampton Court House is an experience to savour. The venue does have its own exclusive catering team of highly trained personnel offering a wide selection of traditional wedding menus. All are individually tailored to meet the requirements of wedding parties, whether it be a lavish banquet for 400 guests or a smaller, intimate buffet type reception. The venue prides itself on using the finest and freshest seasonal produce with menus to accommodate all ages, tastes and dietary needs. Alternatively, the use of the venue’s kitchens by external catering suppliers is welcomed, although an additional surcharge will be applicable for this.

As well as being a prestigious wedding venue, Hampton Court House also plays host to an independent school during term time and is therefore unable to provide accommodation for bridal parties. There is, however, an abundance of hotels and guest houses within the immediate vicinity, which should provide adequate overnight facilities for families and friends, if required.

Whilst being conveniently located for London and the south – Waterloo Station being a 30 minute direct journey from nearby Hampton Court Station – this imposing Grade II Listed building uniquely introduces a tranquil, historic countryside haven to modern day London / Surrey borders. Without doubt, a wedding held here is sure to not only amaze and enthral, but also provide a lifetime of treasured memories.
