Wedding Photography at Morden Hall
Very few wedding venues can boast a National Trust parkland location within walking distance from a London Underground station and a bustling town centre. Whilst this alone makes Morden Hall unique, its location alongside the River Wandle within 125 acres of green, open space is truly spectacular. Surrounded by stunning landscapes, meadows, rose gardens and a marshland wildlife reserve, historic Morden Hall is a perfect venue to host your special celebration.
Morden Hall is a stunning white fronted Georgian mansion which has recently been refurbished for exclusive use as a wedding venue. With personal use of all facilities, a wedding at Morden Hall becomes an opportunity to enjoy its splendour as if it were your own.
The venue is licenced for civil ceremonies and can both seat and cater for up to 150 guests in either the grand Willow Room or the elegant Hawthorn Room. The Willow Room, which opens out onto the North Lawn, features an ornate white and gold staircase in keeping with its period furnishings and gilt décor. Not only does this form a perfect backdrop for stunning wedding photography, but enables you to greet your guests in the most romantic and dramatic fashion possible. Walking down the magnificent gold carpeted staircase to say your vows within this classic Georgian atmosphere must surely be every bride’s dream – a fairy tale entrance for a once in a life time experience.
The Hawthorn Room, a more chic drawing room type venue, also includes traditional Georgian decor and stunning views across the beautiful lawns. Whilst perhaps not as ornate as the Willow Room with its finery, the Hawthorn Room has an elegant charm and sophistication with its high ceilings, sash windows and delicate lighting. Refreshments served outside on the lawns adjacent to the River Wandle will allow for further stunning photography and enable your guests to stroll the countryside and take in the tranquillity of this stunning location.
Fantastic Wedding Photo Opportunities
Additionally, the Oak and Yew Rooms can be used throughout the day for guests to enjoy perhaps a peaceful retreat, a dedicated crèche area for babies and toddlers or a space for children to play. Both rooms are bright and airy with comfortable contemporary décor and pleasant parkland views.
No wedding is complete without a reception or wedding breakfast, and here the Morden Hall effortlessly combines fine dining with a luxurious setting as the impressive Mulberry Room with its silver sculptured lighting, pastel décor and beautiful white vaulted high ceiling, instantly transforms itself from a dining venue into a spacious area for evening entertainment.
Outstanding dining and excellent service naturally go hand in hand to provide you and your guests with a memorable experience, and Morden Hall’s experienced catering and events team can certainly accommodate all tastes, budgets and preferences. Whether you choose to select an extravagant wedding breakfast, a street style food menu or a simple buffet, the finest produce and ingredients, talent and expertise result in an occasion designed to please.
Overall, Morden Hall is a hidden gem. Step away from the hustle of a town centre and walk through a gated entrance into a tranquil haven of peaceful countryside complete with riverside scenery and stunning gardens – the perfect location to fulfil your wedding dreams.
