Barns can be wonderfully romantic places to host a special wedding, and none more so than the two stunning rustic brick and flint barns at Cissbury, near Findon, Sussex — convenient for Worthing and Brighton in West Sussex, for example. Tucked away behind mature woodland, on the Cissbury Estate in the South Downs National Park, the large barns enjoy an idyllic location, and were the heart of sheep farming for over two hundred years. Today, the barns have been transformed into a unique and splendid wedding venue. There is certainly no shortage of stunning backdrops here for your memorable wedding photographs.
Rustic Sussex barns
Both the West Barn and the smaller East Barn are licensed for Civil Ceremonies. The East Barn can accommodate up to 120 seated guests and is ideal for your ceremony, whilst the West Barn with adjacent kitchen can be set up for your wedding breakfast. There’s a lawned walled garden, paved patio and open fronted lambing pens, perfect for a bar and lounge area where your family and friends can mingle and sip Champagne.
Amazing decor
Inside, the versatile barns with their high vaulted roofs boast feature character beams as well as large windows and impressive doorways that flood the interiors with natural light. Enhance the feeling of sophistication by adding your own personal touches: colourful floral displays, bunting and fairy lights. Your Special Day can be as grand or informal as you like with catering ranging from a three-course meal, a buffet or a simple BBQ — the choice is yours. If you fancy your chances at boules, you’ll even find a Petanque court to wile away some time with your guests.
