Why not follow in the footsteps of showbiz personality Katie Price, who renewed her vows here in a “fairytale ceremony” at Long Furlong Barn near Worthing, West Sussex, in March 2015? Set in the beautiful rolling countryside of the South Downs National Park, the beautifully restored Grade II listed barns have been specially designed for stunning wedding receptions and licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships. The fully-heated wedding venue caters for between 60 – 150 guests and is the perfect place to say “I do” and share a memorable day with friends and family. Built in 1880 in the style of a medieval tithe barn and used as a grain store for many years, Furlong Barns have been recently tastefully and sympathetically renovated and now boast modern air-conditioned facilities within an area of outstanding beauty. There’s certainly no shortage of wonderful photographic opportunities at this venue.
A stunning barn in Worthing
The main big barn is known as the Granary, and it is where couples can enjoy breakfast for their wedding. With its impressive cathedral-style ceiling, magnificent roof trusses and exposed mellow brick walls, up to 120 guests can be seated. Next door is the Cart Shed, where the wedding ceremony is held. The hole in the wooden floor where the sacks of corn used to pass through has now (thankfully!) been glassed over and provides a novel space for the bride and groom to stand. Bi-fold doors open onto the sunny south-facing courtyard – the perfect place to mingle with your guests over a glass of Champagne. The Cart Shed is ideal for your evening entertainment.
Fantastic Wedding Photo Opportunities at Long Furlong
Across the courtyard is the South Barn, where you will find the luxury bridal suite with en suite bathroom. The barn is beautifully decorated and furnished with lovely furniture, luxurious soft cushions, large mirrors, relaxing lighting and an iPod dock for music. A recent addition is the fourth barn, designed to protect you and your guests should the weather turn inclement. Festooned in fairy lights and benefiting from outdoor heaters, this barn will ensure that your special day continues well into the evening.
And don’t forget the Secret Garden – tucked away and offering a great location for some intimate wedding pictures for your album.
