This picturesque setting was the perfect choice for Kerry and Andy’s wedding reception in September. I really enjoyed working with such a fantastic couple to create amazing pictures. They looked really relaxed in front of the camera during their photoshoot and throughout their big day as they celebrated with their family and friends. A beautiful wedding at Bartholomew Barn
Set within the Sussex Downs near Petworth, Bartholomew Barn is a Grade II listed barn beautifully refurbished with contemporary features. It’s located close to the Surrey and Hampshire borders and is perfect for both intimate weddings and those on a larger scale.

Upon arrival down the idyllic country lane, you are met with the tranquil walled courtyard at Bartholomew Barn, which features a beautiful pond and a stunning array of plants. There’s plenty of interest in this pretty garden, from the colourful clematis to the sweet-smelling roses that grow against the wooden fences. The newlyweds and their guests can enjoy canapés with a glass of champagne whilst mingling or play outdoor games on the front lawn in the Summer.
This wonderful setting at Bartholomew Barn combines with the rolling hills on the opposite side of the barn, making for an ideal backdrop to wedding pictures. When I’m photographing the couple portraits on the wedding day, I love to lead the couple around all corners of the grounds and shoot from all angles.
Warm and cosy wedding photos at Bartholomew Barn
Inside Bartholomew Barn are a cosy wood burner and large floor to ceiling patio doors that allow for lots of natural light, perfect for photography. The oak beams frame the wedding ceremony and breakfast perfectly, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for the speeches and evening party after the first dance. Tying the knot at this enchanting country barn makes for a relaxing day with plenty of spaces to socialise and celebrate.
Weddings at Bartholomew Barn are truly magical occasions, and in the evening, the fairy lights light the walls of the courtyard, twinkling in the reflections in the pond.
