Clissold House is a beautifully restored 18th century mansion house set in the heart of Clissold Park. It’s a natural light photographer’s dream with large ornate windows that flood the area with lovely soft light and offers stunning views across the parklands. The building features stunning architecture with many original features including a wonderful spiral staircase and marble fireplaces, creating some amazing images. Jemima and Lucas chose this beautiful venue for their Polish themed wedding in July and it really was fantastic. The day started a few miles away at the Hilton Hotel where I captured Jemima and her entourage of bridesmaids getting ready. The atmosphere was electric right from the off and this made for some awesome pictures full of energy. From there we headed to Clissold House for a heartfelt ceremony with the lovely couple fighting back the tears as they tied the knot. The party began immediately afterwards in true Polish style with everyone passing around hip flasks of vodka toasting and congratulating the newlyweds. I took Jemima and Lucas around the house and surrounding park for a very relaxed couple shoot before leaving to the Artisan of Clerkenwell for their reception. The Artisan is a wonderful mix of retro styling with a modern twist on the traditional English pub and made for a very cosy reception. The speeches were hilarious and the vodka flowed in to the evening with toasts at every opportunity! For their first dance Jemima and Lucas chose “It must be love” by madness and for me it summed up their wedding perfectly. It was an incredible wedding with an incredible couple and certainly a wedding I will never forget…….
“These are just incredible, I am speechless. You have managed to capture the happiness, the energy, the love, the fun, … everything. I am not sure we have enough walls to display the photos on at home! You are extremely talented and we will forever be grateful to you!” Jemima & Lucas
