Located in the beautiful setting of the Surrey countryside lies the fantastic wedding venue Gate Street Barn. This barn was constructed from fallen oak trees in the 1987 hurricane and is a wonderful venue for those seeking a rustic barn atmosphere with a contemporary and elegant twist.
I love working at this venue as there’s so many nooks and crannies to utilise and explore for beautiful backdrops. It can accommodate larger parties but with its character and charm it’s also an idyllic setting for a more intimate wedding too.
I had the joy of capturing Rebecca and Chris’ wedding reception here in September at the end of the Summer. Rebecca’s family home was the ideal intimate setting as she prepared for the day with her bridal party. Their local church was filled with excitement as she walked down the aisle with her proud father on her arm. Following a touching exchange of vows they exited the church to ruptures of applause and the guests lined up to shower them with handfuls of confetti.
Gate Street Barn looked amazing as everyone gathered on the lawns to mingle with a glass of bubbly. As a regular photographer to the venue I took the happy couple around my favourite areas for some intimate time away from the crowds. The oak framed barn looked stunning for their meal as Chris and the other speakers delivered some lovely speeches. With the deep blue sky slowly fading in the twilight hour I finished the day with some shots of Rebecca and Chris beneath the moon lit sky.
I very much enjoyed shooting their big day and was thrilled with their response to the moments I captured. Here are a few snap shots from their wonderful wedding at Gate Street Barn.
“Thanks so much for the photos – we love them!! It’s going to be hard to pick our favourites!” – Rebecca & Chris
