Brookfield Barn is a contemporary wedding venue that retains a rustic feel. Situated just outside of Horsham it’s a family-run business providing picturesque backdrops for a dream wedding in the Sussex countryside.
The oak-framed barn is magnificent and boasts wonderful panoramic views through large glass doors across to the lake and fields beyond. It can accommodate up to 138 guests during the ceremony and meal, and 200 for the evening reception. Around the back of the building is a south facing patio area that’s an amazing sun trap overlooking the lake and surrounding grounds. You can also get married with the lake in the background if you are planning an outdoor ceremony which is a popular choice in the Spring and Summer months.
Emily and Henry had exclusive use of Brookfield Barn for their Summer wedding in June and what a fabulous day it was. The day started at South Lodge Hotel around the corner where I captured Emily and her bridesmaids being made up. I met Henry at Brookfield Barn about half an hour before the ceremony to capture the guys and guest arriving to the venue. The sun was shining brightly and this made for a wonderful outdoor ceremony and afternoon reception with lots of great reportage story-telling images.
For their couple portraits I took the newlyweds around the various picturesque locations to capture some natural and relaxed photographs of them. Following the wedding breakfast in the barn we made the most of the golden sunshine for the last 5 minutes before it disappeared behind the trees and Emily and Henry looked amazing on camera.
The day finished with lots of partying to round off the reception and I had a really fun time capturing this lovely wedding at Brookfield Barn. Below are a few of the highlights from their big day…..
