Dating back to 1898, Frensham Hall in Surrey is an elegant and grand setting for a wedding. This house, with its wonderful heritage, features stunning views of the countryside, pristine gardens and formal lawns that make for a tranquil setting. The interior boasts magnificent ballrooms, a Jacobean Hall and charming drawing rooms. Set within the extensive grounds, just above ground level, is the idyllic tree house, which makes for a wonderful setting for intimate weddings with a rustic and natural vibe.
The wooden balcony running around the the outside is perfect for a small drinks reception with a ramp leading directly in to the surrounding woodlands. The interior features two rooms with a capacity of up to 40 people for a civil ceremony making this a more affordable option for those seeking a fun and unique setting within a picturesque and elegant setting.
Gail and Ed wanted a relaxed and easygoing day for their Autumnal wedding in November. Having worked many times at Frensham Hall, I was very excited to capture a wedding in the new tree house.
The day started around the corner at the Frensham Ponds Hotel, where Gail prepared for the big day with her bridesmaid as they were made up. Gail walked down the aisle with her proud brother, meeting Ed inside the cosy tree house as guests sat around in a circle on the edges. It was a touching exchange of vows, and the sweet couple were clearly very happy to tie the knot, accompanied by their closest friends and family.
After a relaxed and informal drinks reception, I took the newly married couple around the woodland and gardens to take some romantic shots of the two of them as the sun sat low in the sky. The reception then continued offsite in a local restaurant to finish off a wonderful day. Working with Gail and Ed for their tree house wedding at Frensham Hall was a great pleasure.
