Kent Safari Park wedding venue

Located in one of the Kent countryside’s most idyllic parts lies Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve. This incredible wildlife park is home to some fantastic animals, including giraffes, rhinos, zebras and monkeys! With the chance to see some of the world’s most endangered species, couples are invited on a private safari at Port Lymne to see them up close in the wild.

Besides offering a fantastic safari experience, the 600-acre country estate at Port Lympne has become an award-winning wedding venue in Kent.

This incredible setting offers a unique and adventurous getaway filled with romance and glamour. The reserve is a once-in-a-lifetime safari experience in the heart of the countryside, and shooting weddings here is simply breathtaking.

I’ve been fortunate to have travelled to many parts of the world, photographing at various nature reserves with my cameras. I even proposed to my fiance at the Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa, which was an amazing experience! Documenting weddings and nature at Port Lympne Safari Park is both an honour and a joy, and I’m always thrilled and excited when couples invite me to return!

Historic Port Lympne is perfect for photography

The Hotel is Grade II listed and is set within beautiful grounds. The plot features Italian-inspired terraces, a Moroccan courtyard and picturesque landscaped gardens.

Arisha and Ben are a lovely couple who were recommended to me for their special day at Port Lympne last Summer.  After an intimate ceremony, the guests gathered around the newlyweds on the terrace to congratulate them. It was a lovely sunny day with clear blue skies, making for beautiful images of their couple shoot. The sun was shining so brightly over the reserve that sunglasses were a must for the newlyweds! After we covered a few of Port Lympne’s stunning sights, it was time for them to rejoin the party.

Unique safari wedding pictures

The wedding breakfast was held in the impressive Aspinall Suite before the bridal party, which was whisked off on their sightseeing safari! We saw lots of amazing animals along the way, making for an authentic African experience! I love Safaris, and taking my long lens to photograph the animals up close at Port Lympne was a dream come true!

I had a fantastic adventure working with Ben and Arisha, and I’m very grateful to them for having me along for the ride! The couple were delighted with their Port Lympne images, and I wish them all the very best for the future.

My approach as a Port Lympne Safari Park wedding photographer

I offer a very natural style of reportage photography by focusing on the beautiful moments from the day. Getting to know my subjects and putting them at ease is the key to taking fantastic storytelling images. Observing and taking the picture at the decisive moment allows me to create exciting photography. Most of my couples are new to being in front of the lens, so seeking to build a rapport is essential.

This is the style that I will bring to Port Lympne’s future weddings. I love animals and people, and the opportunity to photograph them together is an absolute joy. I’m looking forward to working in Kent in the future with lots of fantastic couples, reliving the safari experience! If you like the sound of my approach and are planning a wedding at Port Lympne, it would be great to hear from you.
