Relaxed Wedding Photography at Buxted Park
It’s incredible to work at
Buxted Park, and this East Sussex luxury wedding venue is a beautiful 18th-century Palladian mansion. Just three miles from
Ashdown Park and the Forest near
East Grinstead, it features stunning chandeliers, grand fireplaces, large sash windows, 312 acres of magnificent parkland with rolling hills,
pristine gardens, and decadent ponds. Buxted Park boasts a relaxing terrace and a tranquil lake.
Charlotte and Martin are a charming couple who love the surrounding Sussex Downs National Park. The daffodils in the parklands were emerging, and this gave a lovely, fresh look to their photography with some beautiful green landscapes and relaxed portraits. It was a mild day, and the ceremony was held in the stunning
Victorian Orangery. This elegant space overlooking the parklands has fantastic natural light flooding that works very well for photographs. Once they’d taken some time to celebrate, I took the couple on a tour around the grounds for some relaxed pictures of just the two of them. One of my favourite pictures is of the bride and groom reflected in the pond’s water, framed with the building and the nearby trees in the background.
Artistic Imagery in Sussex
They were relaxed in front of the lens, which helped create beautiful, artistic images. The
extensive Ballroom is the perfect setting for the wedding breakfast. Some great speeches entertained the guests, and they all raised a glass of champagne to toast the happy couple before it was time for the party to begin. I captured plenty of dancing and finished the day with a few atmospheric indoor shots of the couple. I made good use of the hallway towards the orangery. The corridors on the first floor also made for extraordinary images, and I used my flashguns to create a wonderful silhouette of the newlyweds.
